Join us on Wednesday, October 30, from 5:30-7:30 pm at Driswood Elementary School to learn practical tips for managing screen time for your elementary-aged students. We’ll cover healthy screen habits, setting boundaries, and fun alternatives to help balance tech time! 🚒🔥 JCS students learned about fire safety during Fire Prevention Week! Last week, students at Blue Ridge Campus, T.A. Lowery Elementary, and C.W. Shipley Elementary learned fire safety basics with help from our incredible community EMS partners! Students explored fire trucks, checked out the gear, and learned important fire safety tips. Thank you to our local heroes for partnering with us for Fire Prevention Week to make these important safety lessons fun and informative! 👨🚒











📢 Join the Hispanic/Latino Association of JCS this Friday, October 18, for an informative presentation! Our amazing educators engaged in interactive sessions over three days to boost their teaching strategies. This focus on continuous improvement gave them new tools and techniques to create even better and more supportive classrooms. The enthusiastic participation and positive feedback demonstrate just how impactful this workshop was in fostering educational excellence!

Today our special education staff attended PD with public speaker and YouTuber, Gerry Brooks! Our amazing special educators and administration were recognized for all of their efforts. Mrs. Martin earned the Inclusive Adminstrator of the Year Award. Mrs. Saunders earned the Elementary Special Educator of the Year Honor. School Psychologist, Mr. Cooper, received the Special Education Specialist of the Year Plaque!

🌍 Culinary adventure alert! Jefferson High School ProStart students recently cooked up a feast fit for foodies of all ages! During a visit to T.A. Lowery Elementary School, these budding chefs dazzled Mrs. Blue's first-grade class with a mouthwatering spread of international flavors from China, India, El Salvador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Students enjoyed sharing their knowledge of the different ingredients, tastes, and textures that made each dish unique as they sampled the diverse cuisine. Kudos to our ProStart team for spreading the joy of food, fostering a love of global fare, and serving up smiles one plate at a time! 😋
