Members of the Class of 2023 return to their elementary and middle schools this week for one last stroll down memory lane ahead of graduation. Thanks to our TALES community for lining the halls to welcome back these alumni from Jefferson High School!
May 12, 2023: In an abundance of caution, T.A. Lowery Elementary School went on lockdown this afternoon (5/12/23) in response to a family in crisis. There is NO DANGER to any of our students or staff. Following our Standard Response Protocol, we immediately contacted law enforcement to support the family once we ensured the safety of our students. Thank you for your understanding and support as we put safety first. Read more about our protocols at www.jcswv.org/safety.
Mrs. Ashbaugh's second-grade class wrapped up their CKLA unit on Human Bodies by creating their cut out of a human body. See their hard work below.
Thank you to our staff, parents, and students for making our "Stories under the Stars" event such a success. Families were able to listen to a selection of stories read aloud by staff, color bookmarks and enjoy refreshments. To continue the fun at home, students were able to take books with them!
Today is National School Nurse Day! We're proud to recognize the dedicated school nurses who make a difference in the lives of our students by protecting and promoting their health and advancing their academic success. Thank you for all you do!
Mrs. Blue's first grade classroom put on their own production of "The Three Little Pigs." Check out the pictures below.
We have baby chicks! Our students have been anxiously waiting for them to hatch.
Spring Fling was a HUGE success and we couldn’t have done it without the parents, staff, and amazing community members! I think it’s safe to say the kids had a blast! 💜💙
As part of Kindergarten's ABC Countdown, they had some fun with eXtra special people! Everyone enjoyed relay races, playing with the parachute, blowing bubbles, bowling, sack races, and so much more.
Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Ashbaugh, and our Service Personnel of the Year, Mr. Kensinger! Both were celebrated at the annual banquet honoring the county's best. We're so lucky to have you both!
Our 5th grade students are learning all about the growing process of chicks through the WVU Extension Services Program. They were able to candle one of their eggs they are raising to see how the chick is developing. Then for fun, they did an egg drop challenge.
Mrs. Hanson's class created biodegradable recycled paper seed pods as an Earth Day activity in Ms. Hannah's art classroom. The students can't wait to see them bloom.
Mrs. Blue's first grade class created habitat dioramas as their culminating activity in CKLA. The students then presented their diorama to the class. Take a look at all their hard work!
Join us for our annual Spring Fling! We're still accepting donations for raffle items, as well as things for classroom baskets. We can't wait to see you there! 💜💙
