On January 31, nearly 100 JCS middle school students gathered for an exciting day of music and collaboration at the 3rd Annual All-County Middle School Honor Choir. Hosted by Hannah Myers, Choral Director at Jefferson High School, the event brought together talented young voices from across the county to create something truly special.
The event brought together talented middle school choir students from across the county for a day of music and collaboration. Middle school choir directors Kelly Bennett (SMS), Lindsay Dove (CTMS), Haley O'Meara (HFMS), and Molly Wildman (WMS) selected participants based on their school's choir size. The students came prepared with five songs they had learned in advance and spent the day refining their performance under Ms. Myers’ direction, with Ms. Bennett accompanying on piano. They celebrated their hard work with an evening concert to showcase their musical growth and dedication.
“The All-County Honor Choir event gives our students a chance to learn from new perspectives and perform with others who share their love for music," explained Dove. "It’s amazing to see the growth in each of them by the end of the day.”
The Honor Choir also allowed participants to experience performances by vocal ensembles at JHS and WHS. Congratulations to the JCS students chosen to take part in this memorable celebration of musical talent!
